CHILDREN, JUNIORS, TEENS
WHY CHOOSE JAE HUN KIM TAEKWON-DO?
Parents want an activity that keeps their kids interested and challenged. Kids want an activity that is FUN! Our approach to teaching Taekwon-do techniques with a balance of discipline and age appropriate games keeps your kids committed and coming back for more.
Children (ages 5-8)
Our children’s program maintains a fun and positive environment for your child while introducing them to the full Tae Kwon Do curriculum including the more formal aspects such as discipline, self-control, and respect. Your child will have the opportunity to earn belts for each level as they progress through Tae Kwon Do. Your child will learn concentration and focusing skills through fun and organized activities that are goal oriented and challenging.
Juniors (ages 9-13)
Our juniors’ program teaches the complete curriculum of Tae Kwon Do including the philosophy and principles of the martial art. We work with the juniors on their physical and social development, which helps them develop emotionally and cognitively. Goal setting, perseverance, self-defense techniques, self-control, and self-discipline are some of the many skills that your child will gain through our juniors’ program.
Teens (ages 12-16)
We provide teenagers a great way to get in shape while learning Taekwon-do in a socially engaging and supportive environment. Based on their age, teens have the option to train with our adult students at the Teen/Adult classes, to train with the junior program, or experience a little of each before they eventually move up to being a full time adult student.
Skills for Success
Coordination development, physical fitness, self discipline, respect for parents and teachers, self control, and leadership development are mentioned by parents as some of the key benefits your child may derive from learning Taekwon-do. Millions of people around the world benefit from practicing this exciting art.
Separate Kids and Adult Classes
We offer separate classes for kids at the Jae H. Kim Tae Kwon Do Institute. Our kid’s classes build strength, agility, and fitness levels. They also develop character and help with goal setting—not to mention they are FUN!
Introductory Private Lessons
We start all new students with introductory private lessons so that your child can learn at his/her own pace before jumping into the classes.
All of our instructors are trained personally by Grand Master Jae Hun Kim. Many of them earn a college degree in Taekwon-do before going through our rigorous instructor training program. The instructors at our institute have, on average, more than 25 years of Taekwon-do experience.
We have designed the children’s classes to make them more interesting for kids, but we have not changed any of the actual content. So, your child will be learning authentic Taekwon-do at our school. As such, your child will earn a Black Belt certificate from the Kukkiwon World Headquarters in Korea when he/she becomes a Black Belt at our school.
International Exchange Program
We have schools in the US and at locations across the Pacific, so your child will have opportunities to meet children visiting from those countries. You may even elect to have your child visit one of our overseas schools at some point. All such activities will help your child to better understand different cultures and allow him/her to be more effective in cross cultural environments in the future.
A Rewarding Experience
We are ecstatic about TKD at JHK. Each class focuses on building community, discipline, leadership, listening, kinesthetic learning and individualized support. Ms. Perrin’s instruction is infused with humor and passion, always.
My son has studied at JH Kim for seven years, and we have watched him mature into a responsible and respectful young man. It seems just yesterday he was looking up to the higher ranked students to help him out, and now he is the student that the younger ranks look up to as a role model and someone who will help them be their best. His of self-worth and pride in his accomplishments that he has developed in the dojang carry into other parts of his life: sports, academics, and even how he treats his little sister. Thank you, Ms. Perrin, for teaching my son how to be a Gentleman.
My son is so proud to be a part of the Jae H. Kim Taekwondo Institute. Not only is he learning the techniques of Taekwondo, but he is also having a lot of fun, and learning to be strong, confident, and respectful of others.
